Q & A

Below is a list of some of the most frequently asked questions I received from new customers.

DO YOU SPEND THE NIGHT IN THE PETS HOME?

YES! I do offer an option where I’ll come and sleep over in your home where your pet is most comfortable. This is a great option for a pet who’s never been alone, might need some extra watch in the evening with the bonus that if you are gone of a long vacation you also have someone in your home showing activity.

DO YOU TAKE PETS INTO YOUR OWN HOME?

At this time I do not take pets into my home as my HOA does not allow the boarding of pets.

ARE YOU INSURED & BONDED

Yes I am. I can provide copies of my insurance. I am insured through:

Pet Care Insurance
260 South 2500 West #303
Pleasant Grove, UT 84062
P: 844.520.6990 | F: 801.763.1374

DO YOU MEET WITH THE PET IF IT’S A NEW CLIENT?

YES! Actually I REQUIRE a meet & greet be conducted prior to accepting any new client for both dog walking and dog sitting. This insures the safety of both the pet and myself. As amazing as our fur-babies are as family members they are still animals and so without a proper introduction from their owner or “pack leader” it can be potentially dangerous for me to enter the home of a dog who does not know me. It also gives them the opportunity to decide if they want me as their dog walker or pet sitter. It is important that your pet feel safe and happy with the person you chose to care for them.

WHAT DO YOU CHARGE?

All my prices and services are listed on this page. At the initial meet & greet we will go over your pet’s needs, the number of pets, and exactly which services will be right for you. Together we will discuss the best pricing and payment.

CAN I ASK FOR REFERENCES?

Absolutely and you should always ask for references. If you should ask I am happy to provide you with clients locally who can attest to my services. You can also read reviews on my Facebook Page.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THEIR IS AN EMERGENCY?

Emergencies do come up and I am equipped to deal with them. When I take on a new client we discuss in detail how you would like to proceed in the even their is an emergency including the death of an animal. Everything will be outlined and I will only do what you give me permission to do. I also will have all your pets vet info and I ask, especially in the event that you are traveling, your vet is notified ahead of time in the event I need to act on your behalf.

CAN YOU GIVE MY PET IT’S MEDICATION?

I am not trained in the veterinary field, however, I am comfortable and experienced in administering medicines, including pills and insulin shots, changing bandages, as well as expressing animals or handling diapers. I first hand know how tiring and exhausting it can be to care for an animal who’s closer to the end of their years an it can be especially difficult to find help willing to handle special need cases.

DO I NEED TO PROVIDE MY OWN LEASHES

Yes. However I do not use retractable leashes so please have a standard 6ft nylon dog leash available.

WHAT AREAS DO YOU GO TO?

I generally care for pets in Northern Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch areas. However I do go throughout all of Sarasota and up to Bradenton depending on the location and availability.

DO YOU HAVE BACKUP?

Yes I have trusted people who work with me. I always try to accommodate every client, however when schedules overlap I have an assistant who is also insured and bonded.
